Robert F. Kennedy; assassinated by a Palestinian (Sirhan Bishara Sirhan) for supporting Israel; June 5th, 1968

50 years ago today – Robert F. Kennedy, a Presidential candidate, was assassinated at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles by Sirhan Bishara Sirhan, a Palestinianת for supporting Israel.

The senator had just completed a speech celebrating his victory in the California presidential primary.

The shooter -a Palestinian by the name of Sirhan Bishara Sirhan, Holding a Jordanian Passport.

Kennedy, critically wounded, was rushed to the hospital, where he fought for his life for the next 24 hours.

On the morning of June 6, he died. He was 42 years old. On June 8, Kennedy was buried at Arlington National Cemetery, also the final resting place of his assassinated older brother, President John F. Kennedy.

On the last night of the Cuban Missile Crisis, President Kennedy was so grateful for his brother’s work in averting the nuclear war that he summed it up by saying, “Thank God for Bobby.

In his Brother funeral, President John F. Kennedy Robert quoted from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet:

“When [he] shall die
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night
And pay no worship to the garish sun.”

So very true about Bobby Kennedy as well.
